FAR-THER BY JASEN SOUSA

FAR-THER

I wish I could probe your mind
so I could see what you had planned for me.
You do not know how much it hurts to know
that you do not understand me.

How my soul quivers each time I realize
you despise what I have become.
Every time I explore your eyes I wonder
if you wish you had another son?

My memories as a kid
consist more of dreams of things we never did.
Still, you are my father and I put no man above you.

My final words to my father,

I love you.
