TRAPPED IN MY HOUSE BY JASEN SOUSA

TRAPPED IN MY HOUSE

I will explain to you
why I compare my house to a jail.
Years behind steel,
feelings, stale.

I cannot tell you the reason
why I stay locked inside,
but I can tell you the reason
why the world makes me want to run and hide.

When I step out my door,
something just isn’t right.
I would feel better if I went back in,
hid under my covers, and slept for the rest of the night.

Once you have been away for a while,
it feels so strange to return.
Getting so many hot flashes
I think my eyes are going to burn.

And forget about finding love,
I know I will never find a spouse.
How can I
When I am trapped in my house?
