LATE NIGHT PHONE CALL BY JASEN SOUSA

LATE NIGHT PHONE CALL

Lost in my dreams
resting for the next day.
Every night before I go to sleep,
I make sure that I pray.

The keeper of the clock
cannot get you through the night
no matter how much time flies.
Be prepared for hollowing cries,
phone calls in the middle of the night
usually mean that someone has died.

Surrounded by darkness, death is in the air.
Death arrives in darkness, our eyes hate
to picture fear. Visions of family and friends
lying in graves, when it comes to death, God
is the master and we are his slaves.

Do you think it’s just a coincidence
you are always lying down when you receive the late night call?
Think about how hard it would be to get up
during the day after you fall.
