HAPPY ENDING BY JASEN SOUSA

HAPPY ENDING

I have a vision
of clenching my fists and raising
them high in the air. After the dust,
after the sorrow, when my vision
is finally clear.

Is that day near,
or is it light years away?
Playing an actor
in life’s dramatic play.

I often imagine
how the story
will end?

Will I ever in my travels
find one worthy friend?

As of right now I don’t know
because I am not the director.
I put my character in the hands
of the universal protector.

One day I will stop
looking down like I am
tying my shoelace, and I will look up
at the sky with the largest smile in the world
painted on my face!
