DAY OF DESTRUCTION BY JASEN SOUSA
DAY OF DESTRUCTION
On this day
I lost my family.
Lacking confidence, I have no one left
to show me how to be brave.
On this day
I lost my friends.
When they speak of my name,
they only have bad things to mention.
Today I feel the tension.
On this day
I lost my belongings.
Can you tell I am deeply scarred?
On this day
I lost my heart.
Broken by people.
On this day
I lost my soul.
Fantasies of resting in a hole.
On this day
I lost my mind.
It’s too lost for me to ever find.
On this day
I realize tomorrow will never follow.
On this day
I am completely left with nothing.
This is the day
of my destruction.
