POINT OF PERIL By Jasen Sousa
POINT OF PERIL
Today I decide
where my body will reside.
A mind full of twisting thoughts,
hands spin wildly on clocks,
time ticks towards my extinction.
Pages, a desert where words sink into sand.
Repercussion, seeds I plant
do not believe in reproduction.
All I have written which will not be heard,
blown away with the wind, my final word.
Point of peril, day of destruction.
Sentences run the streets like strays.
Sacrifice my body
on a concrete surface.
My poems, my perspective, my pain,
no purpose.
