THE KEY TO PARADISE By Jasen Sousa
THE KEY TO PARADISE
This place called paradise is not a destination,
it can be found under layers of sin and skin,
under layers of blood and perspiration.
It’s not somewhere you can be sent by the prayers of men.
Paradise is not a place only visited after death,
the key to paradise is broken in half,
half in your heart, and half in your mind.
You must connect the pieces before you perish,
for you to witness a paradise no one else can see,
and not die without being accompanied by things you cherish.
The key to paradise is not something
which can be touched by a human hand.
You can follow other paths, but none will suffice.
Paradise will always slide through your fingertips like little grains of sand,
until you realize, bringing another with you is the only way to paradise.
