Henry Braun is the author of Loyalty and In the Virgil Woods, the latter published by Atheneum Press. Nathaniel Tarn says of Loyalty: “Wonderfully concise bringing together of wonder, closeness and immense distances!” Eleanor Wilner offers “Profound thanks to [this] mercurial poet who conjured “unimagined joy” in this “unprepossessing wilderness.” Loyalty won the 2008 Maine Literary Award for Poetry. Braun is a consulting editor for The American Poetry Review

Lee Sharkey’s third full-length book, A Darker Sweeter String, was a Small Press Review pick. Betsy Scholl writes of Sharkey’s new book: “If our dreams could edit the news (and sometimes our nightmares) these poems are how they’d wake us up to the urgency of our times, to the damage violence does to everyone—including those of us who observe from afar. The music played here is dark, but it is indeed sweet. It is what we need to hear. In Sharkey’s art solace and truth form a new alliance, and mourning becomes a gift.” Since 2003, Sharkey has been a co-editor of Beloit Poetry Journal.

Both poets are veteran anti-war activists, both are distinguished readers.
